GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Heteroish
SPECIES: Half-elf Dhampir

APPEARANCE
VISUAL:
HEIGHT: 5'8"
BUILD: Slender but well-muscled.
HAIR: White (originally reddish brown). Short and shaggy currently.

FEATURES: Very pale complexion that stands in jarring contrast to the dark red mark on his face. Has a ghostlike ot ethereal appearance, down to his white eyelashes. His left arm is blood red and appears draconic, having plated armoring on his fingers and black clawed nails. Intricate tattooing goes up his arm as well: anyone very well-versed in lore would recognize it bears a slight resemblance, if not color, to some depictions of Atromo.
DRESS: Favors anything reminiscent of simple Victorian gentleman dress, waistcoats and ties, gloves. Always tries to hide his left hand with gloves and parts his hair in such a way to hide the pentagram. Frequently wears hoods to further hide his face. Fond of long black coats reinforced with leather or otherwise extra durable for his job.
VOICE: Light masculine, soft but gets loud when emotional, very well-spoken generally and speaking in a clipped manner. Sometimes cracks in a falsetto when he's surprised.

TRIVIA
» Gets lost easily and can be a bit of a space cadet. He's excellent at tracking things, but not at telling you where they are.
» Unaware that he is a dhampir, he's in the dark on most of his heritage and believes what he was told he was (of dragonborn descent, cursed by dragons, etc. because of the appearance of his left arm). He's aware his arm is actualy a blessing from Atromo, the dragon god of war/strengh/destruction, but is ambivalent/uncertain of that other than he knows it's what lets him fight and gives him purpose. He shelves thinking about dragons much at all if he can help it and gets terse about it.
» Horrible at drawing
» Horrible at writing. Was being tutored in penmanship for his lack of an education to little success.
» Counts his money first thing every morning
» Insomnia due to his left eye
» Dislikes people who don't appreciate money/working for themselves
» Can't drink alcohol, it gives him PTSD
» Ridiculous metabolism (and corresponding appetite)
» Would eat his weight in meat for breakfast if he could. Or just in general.
» Favorite food is dumplings/dango, favorite drink is fruit (mango) juice
» Favorite colors are black and white/monochrome and gold.
» Vicious cardshark, cheats at anything you can do sleights of hand with.
» Juggles and does acrobatics in his free time
» If you cook for him and are a nice/kind girl in an apron he might crush on you.
» I'm not joking, that's straight from a character interview.
» DEBT. debt debt debt debt...
» One could say he has no idea how to use his courier because he's from 100 years ago, but... he's just bad at all things technology...
» While in canon he clings to the idea of being a proper British gentleman despite the fact he's a bit of a prickly uneducated scrapper, in Usir he takes similarly pride in being a professional and it's where his kneejerk cling to manners is rooted.

THIS IS THE ONLY PATH I CAN TAKE...
IN ORDER TO FEEL ALIVE
ABOUT
(Canon) Allen is your weird shounen horror hobo-hero in that he's actually a very gentle and kind boy who wishes to save others, regardless of whether they're his enemy or not, or even if they're a total stranger. He can't help but be moved by the world immediately in front of him, and if he can help someone then he wants to—something he doesn't see as a noble calling or sense of duty, but merely his own compulsion. He literally can't help it. But as his left arm also makes him a living weapon—a "destroyer"—and he exists to destroy akuma in order to save the human souls otherwise left to rot within them. Thus he wants to be a destroyer who also saves.

He's also an incredibly tragic, lonely boy who carries a lot of sorrow.

A lot of his more gentle nature and polite manner is a front as much as it's genuine (and sometimes he's an outright faker), given that part of his nature he forcibly adopted from his father at a young age as a coping mechanism. He's made it his own, but still retreats behind his smiles and forcing a polite front, even when he doesn't feel that way. (While he believes he is a proper gentleman, he really isn't.) Which is also because—

Long before plot reasons broke him, he was originally a horribly foul-tempered and foul-mouthed hot-headed orphan brat who worked in a circus where he was mostly just beaten up and abused. Someone who was angry at the world and wanted to get stronger so he wouldn't have to depend on anyone; someone who didn't think he needed friends (and didn't think he'd ever have them). He's still that hot-blooded kid underneath his smiles and manners, and it comes out when he's nettled enough and is the driving force behind his stubborn Will To Live and Fight. He also tends to feel everything incredibly strongly and will never back down from how he feels. At his core, he is Allen "Walker" because of his father's mantra (shhh plot, shhh) to "don't stop, keep walking", later on deciding for himself that he'd make his path his own even if everything seems to conspire to force him a certain way.

Even if he doesn't know where that leads.

He's also cagey af about anything truly personal and to most people under normal circumstances will seem a very polite, sweet kid who's quite upbeat/cheerful as he crushes his real feelings behind a smile. And who when rubbed the wrong way can be quite prickly... and cheeky... and sometimes an outright brat... but at his core he has a heart of gold and just wants to save everyone.
ABILITIES

Innocence Arm of Atromo

No longer Innocence but still a holy weapon he was born with. From his birth he was blessed by Atromo with a left arm bearing a superhuman strength and the ability to evolve and transform as a semi-sentient weapon that's part of him. After he was cursed and the blessing fully woke and activated, he has been able to learn how to invoke his arm into a large claw. It is still unstable and taxing on him and he doesn't fully understand himself and its purpose.

His claws also have a raw, destructive quality of exorcism/holiness to them as well. Against demons and dark creatures they would have an additional effect. Interestingly enough, in canon akuma who have been touched by his claw say it feels nice, almost healing. "With this I have been saved." But that's also given their very specific nature and bearing a soul that wants to be saved/exorcised, and so how it will feel depends on the character struck. Even if purely a negative response though, it would still be along the lines more of "gentle to the point of being searing".

His arm will be mirroring his canon development with it, eventually becoming Crown Clown when invoked. He can currently transform it into its second stage as a destructive claw, as he is older here than actual pre-Order canon, having traveled with Cross longer and received more actual training (and a better relationship slightly with Cross).  He will potentially eventually be able to transform it into an exorcising blade that only hurts "that which is evil", and summon a ethereal cloak that functions as semi-sentient full body armor and occasionally resembles angel wings (fiery draconic ones for its Usir version). He has a number of different abilities, destructive and shielding, with its various forms. The cloak can also puppet his body for him when it's too broken for him to otherwise continue moving (in order to keep fighting). He can also control ribbons from the cloak that can be used to bind people or rappel himself/be Spiderman. Or something like that. We'll see how he develops here, as his Innocence always mirrors the state of his heart and his desires.

The left arm in both its active and inactive forms is essentially indestructible to everything save other Innocence holy power and Dark Matter shadow or demonic magic. Against metal, human materials, and other magics however it is nearly impervious, but is completely weak to direct shadow attacks and can begin to crumble with too much use. In its active form its smooth like marble in black with gold trim and white, delicate but wicked claws. Inactive it's a deep blood red, leathery but smooth, and hardened like carapace where it's plated over his knuckles. There's a golden crystalline symbol of Atromo embedded on the back of his hand that has a very faint holy aura to it when inactive.

Cursed Eye
Due to failed attempt to bring his deceased adoptive father back in a blood magic ritual, Allen reached into the shadow realm and was cursed for it. His left eye, marked in stark red from where he was clawed and burnt like a brand, keeps him further tied to the shadow realm and allows him to see its denizens and beings possessed by them or demons. While not able to fully look into the shadow realm itself, he can see when inhabitants from it pass over into the mortal realm, including those usually not visible to the living.

In the presence of such a creature, his iris turns a glowing blood red and the sclera fully black. almost like a bull's eye.

It is a living curse, tied to the creature that originally cursed him, and can grow in strength over time if he lets himself step further into the shadow realm, or if he further attempts to practice dark arts. He is currently limited to his natural line of sight for what he can detect. Being who are very closely tied to the shadow realm or bear any supernatural presence of it he would feel initially uncomfortable around, like his instincts are trying to tell him something, but he would not be able to pinpoint why that is.

Physical
All skills are the same he has in canon (blending super early/pre-canon with some later canon elements since I have him traveling with Cross slightly longer and never reaching the Order before he died), just for different reasons due to different aspects of his lineage and training. The one later canon skill he does NOT have is swordsmanship as his arm has not evolved to that state. He's swung a sword before in his training, but is by no means good at it and relies on his arm, nor does he carry one.

» Circus acrobat agility/"nimble pest"
» Above normal human strength and stamina (he's doing this when the series starts and he was a scrawny bean compared to now)
» Seriously, he can catch (blood) bullets
» Amateur swordsmanship, pretty sucky at it though
» Limited martial arts skills
» Ambidextrous
» Excellent night vision

Occult Knowledge
He is incredibly well-versed in inhabitants of the shadow realm and demons and how to hunt and purify them, as well as being well-versed in monster lore in general as well to a lesser degree, as Black Priests might get called upon to aid in monster slaying in general. While in canon he needs very little specialized knowledge on akuma to fight them, which even so he is one of the more thoughtful individuals able to explain their existence, given the different nature of the creatures and how to fight them here, he would need to be more shrewd and have an actual toolkit, not just solely relying on the raw force of his Innocence. Cross, a Black Priest and a much more scholarly and shrewd individual in both worlds, would have needed to train him in this, not just give him battle (and life skills) training. While he would be a barely-graduated apprentice still with a lot to learn, he would have spent nearly 6 years in intensive training on the road with the man and gained a lot of experience. It would make him a bit more like a Witcher in terms of his knowledge and toolkit he would bring, just given the different nature of the things he lives to destroy. This would include physical and lore knowledge, as well as magical and alchemical where needed in. (Though he is very leery of most magic.) But he'd be less adept at that, and better suited against creatures he can fight directly with holy power.

As a dhampir, though Allen himself is unaware that is his heritage as he believes the presumptions everyone has made that he is mixed up somehow with a draconic lineage or it's because of his arm of Atromo, he is innately skilled with dark magic, the occult, and the shadow realm as well. Because of his terrible experience as a child with that however and his curse, he resists that aspect of himself quite strongly. He is in fact resistant to using magic at all, except for his arm as he sees that as something else entirely/a part of him.

IN-GAME HISTORY
  • Dhampir lineage from his mother, who died in childbirth. He was abandoned by his grief-stricken father who believed him a bastard (due to his arm) and the cause of his mother's death, and as such he never knew either of his parents. Growing up in Krimnos, he did hear people whisper about him though as "the half-dragon bastard child" when he was older. If his father stayed in the city he never knowingly met him, and he ran away from the orphanage he ended up in as soon as he was cognizant and wily enough to as he was bullied and abused relentlessly for his appearance.
  • He was an embittered and nameless child on the streets until one day when he encountered a traveling performer and his dog. Distrustful of the man at first, the dog was kind to him, one of the few not apprehensive at the appearance of his left hand, and he befriended him. He warmed up over time to man--Mana--who would slowly charm the boy to open up to him and perform with him in his acrobatics and shows. While never formally adopted, after the dog died Mana took him with him on the road to the next town. The mental stability of his adoptive father is... questionable, but Allen never talks about it and it never mattered to him.
  • The dog's name was "Allen".

  • Mana died one winter when he was approximately 10 years old (Allen doesn't know his own birthday or year). Devastated, the boy attempted to follow a ritual to bring his father back to life. Without training and without knowing his own close ties with the shadow realm, he succeeded in piercing through, but what he brought back into the body was not his father but a mindless and frenzied spirit, and in reaching into the other realm to try and find his soul encountered that spirit that cursed him. His god-blessed left arm awoke with his life endangered, transforming for the first time and destroying the undead thing he had brought to life. Bleeding and emotionally broken, he was found by a traveling ex-priest that noticed the surge of power.
  • Cross Marian, a mercenary surrounded by many rumors that seemed to surpass what one man could be in a lifetime, took the boy in when he recognized the truth behind his arm and realized he had been cursed--and that it meant the boy had used forbidden magic. Taking him to the nearest ally he could trust to secrecy where he could recover, it took months before Allen was physically, but especially emotionally recovered. When he finally began speaking again, it was much more gently and politely, and he seemed much more fragile than before: he'd adopted the mannerism of his now-deceased adoptive father.
  • Stern and sometimes seeming something of a bully, Cross took the boy in and explained that his arm was a holy weapon, something that meant he was chosen by the gods (whether as a blessing or a curse, he wouldn't tell Allen, just that it was power and power came with obligation and destiny, something he seemed both bitter and sympathetic about). While likely knowing the behind the fact he was blessed by Atromo but a dhampir after nursing him back to health, Cross never told him. Instead, he told him he wasn't the only one like that: that there was a small and secret order of priests who exist to battle shadow creatures and demons, all inhabitants of darker realms that would threaten mortals, The Black Order. The elite core of which were chosen by various gods and blessed with special weapons to fight them—"The Innocent". And that if he wanted to, he could join them. An exorcist.(Whether or not Cross himself was one... Allen would presume so, but out loud only once to a rather unpleasant response.)
  • Allen agreed of course, wanting to make Mana's death and then re-death (as he saw it) mean something, and so his training began. First to learn how to fight, how to track and combat monsters, to serve as warden against the shadow realm leaking over, and how to survive, so that one day when he was ready he might be able to find the Black Order and join. Cross also instilled a harsh caution in him to never touch dark magic or anything to do with necromancy or blood magic again, warning that it could not only deepen the curse but rip open the walls between the shadow and mortal realms. Even if Allen over the years would come to suspect that ex-priest or not, he was learned far too much in necromancy and the forbidden arts himself. But there were so many rumors floating around Cross that he would either encourage or avoid denying, as well as being a vague and enigmatic individual that squirreled out of ever telling a full truth, that it was impossible to tell how much was ever true.
  • One thing he made perfectly clear to Allen however: he had two monsters in him, and that if he didn't learn to master them he'd bring about not only his own destruction, but that of the world around him.

  • When the war broke out, Cross and Allen both tried to stay on the outskirts of it. Neither of them took any relish in wars between the living, though for different reasons. Even so, Cross became more moody and distant as it dragged on, and eventually ditched Allen as he announced his training was completed and he was ready to seek out the Order. And begin to travel and attempt to locate the secretive order of priests Allen did, trying to avoid the war and drawing unwanted attention to himself along the way. Unfortunately, he is naturally drawn to people and can't stand to see injustice or suffering. Befriending some townsfolk while passing through, he was drawn into the fighting when the war caught up to them and died in an effort to protect them.
