Name: Allen Walker
Canon: D.Gray-man
Canonpoint: Chapter 251
Age: Nebulously 17ish (he doesn't know, we barely know, technically he's 50ish but was de-aged/reborn and forgot his memories prior to that)
Powers & Abilities: Panfandom-friendly write-up, DGM powers are complex. In canon he has the ability to summon an interdimensional travel cube of a city (Noah's Ark) that obviously he cannot use here since it is game-breaking, but also since Nea/the 14th will no longer be in his body since they are an appable character themselves he won't have access to any of those powers, which include controlling the Ark.
1. What is their worst fear? Why do they fear it?
He is terrified of others being hurt because of him -- or by him. Because it happened. He already killed his father-figure, the first and one of the only people to ever be kind to him because he lost control of his temper as a child without knowing his own power, and then later corrupted that man's soul and had to destroy the undead thing he became again later when he missed him so much he let himself be tricked into summoning him back as an akuma. The guilt has warped his entire life.
Even though he tries to pretend otherwise, he is terrified of being alone as well. Even if his guilt complex makes him try to forever separate from others and lead a lonely life.
2. What kind of person could they love? Do they have any bonds already?
He is literally the joined souls of two men who loved each other so much it defied oblivion. Allen loves humanity and so very many people who wholly it is one of the defining traits he has, the ability to see the good and the humanity in others even when it is very hard to, and to have compassion for them even when they are at odds or they do things he hates. He wears his heart on his sleeve with friends and found family, and walks a fine line of being open and affectionate with those he cares for while managing to still hold them just arms-length enough from truly knowing him and or letting the weight he carries burden them.
The people he becomes closest to are ones that are morally and in demeanor similar to him, gentle and kind-natured people. Romantically this is what he would find attractive as well, people who are welcoming, loving, kind -- and who are also lonely/sad. He has a small crush on Lenalee in canon because of this, and she has become a defining reason for even his will to continue existing, but he buries it and for a great many reasons would never act on it. Any romance at all he would oppose/suppress/deny and it would take a mountain of character development to get over, and he is canonly very cagey about the topic.
3. What is their greatest weakness? What makes them weak?
Allen had a history of being very passive when it came to the big life decisions he made, getting pushed around more like a pawn than making them himself. He would redefine them in ways where he would take ownership of them, but ultimately his indecisiveness led to a lot of problems in canon. Part of his character development has been him beginning to make more and more decisions for himself even if they run contrary of others, as he would always stand up for others and interject on their behalf but rarely would do so for himself or when it came to deciding what he, Allen Walker, himself wanted vs. what he was told. Much of the problems going on in the war in his world right now are a result of him being reactive and not understanding nor ever truly trying to understand himself and the forces at play in the mystery of his origin, and it's something he's in the process of trying to finally address and be better about.
He chronically has an issue of choosing "both" when offered an either/or situation as well. And while plot armor has let him break the rules repeatedly without having that one really bite him in the ass yet, it's due to.
He also has a martyr-complex and occasional suicidal ideation, and it can become a slippery slope without others to slap him out of it.
4. What would be their worst way to die?
Alone.

The weapons are forever, and can never be separated from their users as they are one and the same. And like their creation process, they defy reality and are unique blood magic reflections of the persons they are crystalized from.
They have near-legend status as Sleeper weapons in Scholar and Disciple circles as they have haven't been seen for some time, and there is little record on them in the Archives.
When a Pthumerian believes a Sleeper is ready for the trials and willing to help them advance the power of their blood, they will come to them in dreams. Dreams that will haunt them with sometimes dire prophetic nature, and that will only keep getting worse the longer the Sleeper tries to resist. The nature of the dreams is to both lead them into understanding what is being asked of them, and to help them understand their own nature and goals. Palebloods will find these dreams particularly vivid, and their blood might pull others into those dreams in reverse-dreamwalking. Sleepwalking during these isn't uncommon, and Sleepers might find themselves waking up in very precarious places in the weeks it can take.
Gradually, as they begin to accept the dreams, they will find knowledge of the ritual required comes to them as if it had always been there. However, it is possible for a Sleeper to not be singled out and given the dreams if power is something they seek. Records of the ritual can also be found in the tunnels or other places where rare pieces of forgotten lore might be, though it is warned the chances of retribution and punishment are much higher.
A wide open space is needed for performing the ritual, and depending on the Pthumerian might need to be undertaken outdoors or under the full moon. It is recommended to bring friends or bodyguards as the ritual is dangerous and takes time, drawing in Beasts and other monsters from sometimes a great distance in waves. The person undergoing it will not be able to fight or risk it failing, so having protection is necessary. The components, much like for Blood Bonds, are simple:
- ceramic bowl or container that can function as a firepit
- a ceremonial antler dagger or other form of blade
- powdered incense
- an offering for the Pthumerian of choice*
- an object of importance**
The bowl that will be fashioned into a ceremonial firepit should be left out overnight in the moonlight for at least a week before the ritual is to take place. Each night, the individual will need to prick their finger and let a single drop of their blood begin to temper it.
The night the ritual takes place, they will need to draw a sigil on the ground in their own blood, the pattern of which they will know either from the dreams or having studied records (though the latter runs the risk of being wrong). This will serve to both protect them from outside harm, and summon the Pthumerian. They will make a fire in the bowl, adding first the incense, then the offering and their object of importance. Finally, they will cut their palm with the dagger and allow some of their own freshly spilled blood to fall into the flame. They will know they have done everything correctly if the flame suddenly changes color, the exact color of which depends on the Sleeper and Pthumerian involved. The Pthumerian is summoned before them, usually as a vision but some might prefer to be in the flesh, and the ritual begins in earnest.
What each Sleeper will experience will vary wildly from this point. They might be asked a series of riddles, questioned on their motives and heart, given dream trials that they must overcome to prove themselves-- whatever the "test' they are given, it is one that reflects both the often-capricious quality of the Pthumerian giving it and what will best address the nature of the person and what they struggle with. They are merciless and will go after the weaknesses and inadequacies a Sleeper might struggle with and force them to confront them. Successfully proving their emotional strength and readiness will mean being rewarded with a relic made from their own blood, but failing or refusing to address and overcome their weaknesses... risks punishment. They could find their arms suddenly slashed open as they begin rapidly bleeding out, feeding the ritual itself, or plunged into endless nightmares. The protective ward will be destroyed as well, and Beasts will be drawn in by the scent of blood and power.
It is recommended that one not be alone for the ritual, both because of the possibility of it backfiring or Beasts being drawn in, and to give moral support through the trials.
* Roses for The Doorway, lunar flowers for Moon Presence, a raven feather for The Tower, etc. Adding additional items of power from Pthumerians can effect the relic as well, such as Moon Drops...
** Symbolic. The choice should be something that reflects not just something important to a Sleeper, but the thing the power they're asking for is key to. If they're getting a weapon that protects others, their object of importance should reflect those they want to protect. It could be a photograph, a child's lock of hair, a keepsake or memento, belonging of a loved one, etc. It's the first step in the Sleeper understanding themselves and if they get it wrong, they could be punished. It doesn't have to be literal, just representative of the Sleeper's feelings. If they're a rotten bastard who lives for revenge, it might be something that represents what they hate the most. Simply put, it reflects a Sleeper's drive.
The relics can be summoned at will from the Sleeper's blood, appearing from any cut they make similar to the Omni. They can dismiss them back to their blood at any point as well, and the process is not corrupting to the person in the process.
Naturally, a Sleeper can only ever have one of these.
While they are made by the same process as regular blood relics, they require the use of a Moon Drop. These can be in whole, or split in two for bonded weapons of slightly lesser power. Moon Presence appears as a vision to preside over these rituals, similar to how she appears when one has a Moon Drop used on them, and will choose, guide, and direct characters that are more selfless in nature and who wish to heal the Waking World. They take on a lunar, moonstone quality instead of the user's own blood, though embellishments of their blood will still be present in it to mark it as theirs.
By their nature, these weapons do not harm living beings. Even if the sharpest-looking sword, they will not cut normal living flesh. It might be a sword that heals wounds instead, or a pair of gloves that burn away corruption and leave the person they were used on feeling refreshed. They are particularly effective against Beasts, not harming the person or animal they once were. They will never be as powerful as a raw Moon Drop, unable to bring persons back from the dead or instantly curing Beasthood, but they are tempered by the Sleeper's blood and will to be permanent if lesser.
They are particularly draining though, and a character would not be able to use them repeatedly for long before they would feel it taking a toll on their own body and soul. The more corruption they try to heal, the more it bleeds into them and they risk becoming Beasts as well. The more wounds they heal, the more it feeds on their own blood.

Hello. My name is Allen Walker, and I'm one of the persons who specialize in purifying and saving Beasts at Sanctuary in Crenshaw. If you haven't heard about us, we seek out those who have become Beasts in order to help purify and save them, as well as help people who might be struggling with corruption.
Some of you may have noticed you've been having bad dreams -- nightmares, and more than usual. They aren't normal, and in fact seem to be caused by a certain kind of invisible Beast that attaches itself to a person, or something similar made of corruption itself. While they can be purified and that seems to work... they can't be saved, whatever they were before, and it can be dangerous to the person they're attached to.
[ He taps the left side of his face with a black-gloved finger, the one with the bright red scar that stems from what seems to be a star on his forehead, or a sort of solid, filled-in inverted pentagram. ] I can see them, so if you think you might be suffering from abnormal nightmares caused by such a thing I'd like to offer my services. I can attempt to purify them as well.
If they can't be purified in such a manner... [ he pauses, shifting a little ] It's possible for another person to enter their nightmares as well and try to confront it in that manner. It likewise purifies the Beast.
A number of people have mentioned apparitions or spirits haunting them as well, also abnormally all at once and apparently of people who haven't died here... Some of us here can calm the spirits with our abilities, but it doesn't seem to fully lay them to rest. There is a blood ritual of spiritual cleansing that can be done though? And that seems to stop them and let them be at peace.
That said... if there is anyone who needs any sort of assistance, or just a calming place to come and ease their thoughts for a while, Sanctuary always has its doors open. One of Lady Amaterasu's cherry blossom trees is here, which is comforting and can help ease someone's corruption. Even if you're just hungry, Miss Abigail and a number of other volunteers help provide a lunch and dinner to people in the area. And if you know anyone who has become a Beast, or who you're worried might... we can help.
Likewise, if there is anyone who would wish to help, we will always want to hear from you. Especially anyone with purification abilities, but even if it's just helping to calm someone's distress, tending to the wounded, or researching purification methods... even just making dinner sometimes, it all helps. Miss Alayne has also mentioned she'd like to organize a sort of "canning drive" or jam baking week soon, for any Palebloods who'd like to contribute their ability to make anti-corruptive jams. And any Hunter who wishes to find another way than killing... those ways exist.
[ Chin up, demeanor gentle. His pale grey eyes are steady though, and determined. Stern yet delicate. ]
Thank you, and good evening.
[ This much more polished broadcast was brought to you by
[ Sanctuary Members Filter ]
Miss Alayne and I approached the head of the Hunters, the Wayward Watcher a few weeks ago, as some of you may know. Unfortunately [ he grimaces lightly, nose wrinkling ] ... she doesn't approve. She won't interfere, but they also want nothing to do with us. [ And if some of the allied Hunters have recently noticed being shunned almost entirely by other native Hunters enclaves they may have worked with before... that might be why. Sorry. ] However...
[ He glances to each side, and two figures step up next to him. One a younger woman, her hood pulled low, and the other an ambiguous, tall and lanky figure that resembles a living scarecrow. Their eyes glow a luminous blue behind their mask. ]
Miss Nell and Vaughn are representing two factions of Hunters who are sympathetic to our methods and would wish to see a way of fighting Beasts that doesn't have to be lethal or spill as much blood, and might be able to still save the persons or, ah... [ a quick glance somewhere behind the camera, like he's getting a Look ] animals? they once were. Anyone who wishes to patrol with them as a Hunter is welcome to join with one of them, and they would be especially interested in partnering with anyone who has the ability to purify or reverse Beasthood. Although it goes without saying that we should try to keep this to ourselves and others also sympathetic.
Don't bother if you don't have experience. We're not here to babysit anyone. If you have what it takes and you have the strength to do it without spilling blood that doesn't need it, see me. Otherwise, we'll have no business. [ The woman, Nell, is... direct. ] See this guy [ a thumb is jerked at Allen ] if you want to find out how to reach me.
[ That's it. She walks back offscreen without saying another word and there's just the sound of a door shutting. While Allen... blinks with a slightly confused, awkward smile, the other Hunter beside him speaks up. Their voice sounding somewhat synthetic and genderless. ]
Nell keeps to the south and I keep to the north. If you wish to patrol the borders and watch the forest, see me. We meet once a week to discuss matters above Disciple's Defense and assign patrols. Sunday, at sundown. [ A long, somewhat uncomfortable pause. Their eyes boring into the camera with a... weirdly non-threatening kind of intensity, actually. Maybe just... no social skills, this one? ] ... do not be late.
[ Vaughn leaves, and Allen lets out a breath like he had been holding it. But a bright smile is quickly drummed up! and his gaze flickers down to... are those little cards that have been written out? ]
Eh, other than that... Viktor has been having some success in working on pacification-equipment using lunar energy to help restrain and calm beasts! If anyone would like to assist him with that, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. Likewise, he and Palamedes and a number of others have been exploring and unlocked some of the sealed doors that were found, and it looks like there is a lunar generator of sorts he hopes to get working for more reliable power in the building. Which they have discovered was once a monastery devoted to Moon Presence? Apparently all the inlaid gemstones that look like moonstones are actually bloodstone that will be powered. Miss Virra-Lorr is a Seer who has also mentioned she is working on a sort of alchemical... squid ink potion? That could help with Beasthood as well.
Related to that, Miss Luna has also been working on a book cataloguing Sleeper Beasts and discussion of how to try and save them as well, and I'm sure she'd appreciate any information you have. And if anyone is a Paleblood... myself and Atsushi have also been looking into records of those who have been able to use that to step within someone's-- soul, I guess. Their mind, and be able to try and help them resolve their Beasthood that way. If there's anyone who would like to join us, or who might be familiar with that.
Miss Wanda has helped set up some protection around Lady Amaterasu's tree as well. It's best not to mention it so no one tries to find a way around it, but the warding should prevent any hostile actions taken in the courtyard. Our hope is that would apply to Beasts as well. A number of individuals have volunteered to be Wardens to make sure the place is guarded at all times since more people are paying attention now... thank you very much. Truly.
On that note, um-- [ a slight glance offscreen again, like someone else is there making a motion ] It would also be best for those of us who purify by fighting or will be patrolling and working together to restrain and cleanse beasts to train together as well so we know how to work together best. Since I'm back on my feet more, I'm happy to train with people who might not be as comfortable and help show them what I can, since I'm familiar with fighting creatures like this. It would probably be best to choose a place that isn't The Gate, though... for a number of reasons. If anyone has any suggestions.
Oh, and um... please don't be alarmed if you see the ghost of an elderly man around, particularly in the archivist's study. [ Smiling somewhat... sheepishly? he makes an offhand wave with a gloved hand. ] He's quite friendly and used to be an archivist here, and Palamedes has set up some... wards? that let him appear for longer. I've been told he likes being read to. [ Yeah. Yeah you heard that right. ]
If anyone else has anything else they'd like to say, please feel free to as well using this. It'd be good I think if we all get to know each other better, even if we don't always see each other.
Thank you again everyone.
[ Action ]
[ After de-stressing and fretting with Sansa after the broadcast, Allen can be found anywhere on the grounds in Sanctuary, primarily either in the main hall chatting with people, checking in on the renovations and seeing what people are trying to clear out next (looks like debris blocking a library of sorts has finally been uncovered?), sitting and chatting with anyone injured or otherwise recovering in the infirmary, or trying to catch a rare breath in his room. ...Who am I kidding? He's also hovering around the kitchens pestering anyone who might be cooking and trying to snag a taste.
He's no longer in the wheelchair, but most people can hear him coming by the faint clicking sound of the crutches he's now on. He's getting better, though! He promises! ]
[open] Sᴀɴᴄᴛᴜᴀʀʏ - May renovations
Residents of the Trench and Sleepers both can be found milling back and forth, sweeping, dusting, moving debris, or taking hammer and nail to build anew, and anyone who lingers and looks for too long might be asked to help pitch in and quickly saddled with tools they may or may not know how to use. (It's fine.) Alternatively, someone might try to just slip by and explore to see what else there might be that hasn't been fully uncovered yet.
A white-haired boy in a wheelchair is there almost every day, and most inhabitants if asked "how did this place come to be" would point and say "Ser Allen" seemed to be here first and began asking people he knew to help him start to clear out the debris. Others followed and began lingering around, curious and drawn by the idea that something new might be starting, as well as feeling and marveling at the tree's tranquil aura that now blankets the grounds. If the boy is asked, he'd say it started because of Lady Amaterasu planting one of her trees here and it's something they should take care of. That it was meant to help give people hope and some comfort. "What is this place called?" Well, most people would shrug and look a bit confused as well about that at first. Before answering, finally:
"It's a Sanctuary."
➢ the guardian sapling/sakura tree is in full bloom
➢ the primary focus is on renovating the space, protecting/cultivating the guardian sapling and cloister, and providing for/protecting those that show up for help with their corruption
➢ community/NPC involvement is heavy, especially at the beginning as more Sleepers are filtering in and taking roles
➢ actual organization around beast purification efforts starts next month
➢ permanent roster and location info HERE!
It's the most common place for both residents of the Trench and Sleepers to be, as its tranquil aura helps soothe one's mind and ease corruption. Napping at its roots or in its branches seems quite popular, and birds and small animals can often be found there, drawn by it. Because of this, one Sleeper has started leading meditation sessions for corruption relief there.
Small and non-violent Beasts also seem drawn in, similar to how they are with the salt lake under the full moon. Twisted little fairies that are not so consumed that they don't still desire to be saved, they can be found resting there before slowly beginning to slip back to their formal selves; perhaps a dove, or maybe mice. Perhaps one could find similar such Beasts, either non-violent or easily restrained, and help bring them there in the hopes that they might also be able to be healed...?
A stockpile has been started for various items known to help reduce corruption or Beasthood as well, notably orbs of hope and a few precious moon drops, though most of those have been reserved for study. Anyone helping to assist, or who gets care, would be asked to just help return the favor for the ill and corrupted by donating what they can when they can.
The kitchens are easy to access though, currently dominated by a stout Crenshaw woman named Abigail who is very thorough in how she wrangles any lollygaggers into chopping mushrooms or gutting fish. No one is safe from her. No one. Heaven help you if you make a mess of her kitchen. She is there almost every day, will lecture a grown man like he's her child, but has a soft spot for young people and will sneak them extra helpings even if she'd deny it. Heaven help you also if you have cooking skills or show any interest in it, because you will find her immediately recruiting you.
Intricate carvings, statues, and faded paintings are throughout the nave and altar area -- but all have been damaged or worn in such a way where it's hard to make out what sort of shrine this was originally, or to whom. Some people will chime in and say it was to Moon Presence herself. Others to Argonaut, or perhaps The Reckoning. Maybe something else entirely, some bygone remnant of another civilization. Who's to say, there doesn't seem to be any consensus or proof yet.
Lunar flowers have begun to grow again around the monastery grounds, so perhaps there's something to be said for it.
What is this? The start of a long term player-based movement of characters pushing for more humane treatment and purification of Beasts using canon and blood magic abilities! Questions? More information, character sign-ups, and questions can be asked over on the location page!
WIP: Deer Country Abilities
INNOCENCEEXTREMELY STRONG. VERY, VERY STRONG. Feels like getting punched by a truck. He is also unnaturally quick and dexterous with it, and uses it often to cheat fantastically well at cards with sleight of hand that's very hard to notice.
Visual: ethereal. Glows like condensed moonlight (more cool-hued than canon, reflecting Moon Presence), feathery, sentience to how it moves, cool white flame in how it invokes and sometimes moves, wintery and fragments into the air like snowflakes or feathers of light. Sometimes takes the form of massive, angelic wings
Emotional/spiritual: being in its presence or touching it feels cool, kind, cleansing, and very light. Like something gentle washes over you. Can be heavy and oppressive when he pushes past his limits.
Touch: except when he hardens it, it is extremely soft, almost intangible-feeling, and paradoxically both a little warm and cool to the touch. The cowl is lined in exceptionally thick, downy feathers, almost like cotton candy.
Olfactory: he has an official fragrance. "Ozone, deep elegant snowdrops, and cool mint. In the shimmering scent of light, you can see a fighting spirit that doesn't give pause and a white flame that burns without a sound." Basically it smells like thundersnow and magic.
STRENGTHS
Physical defense: wherever the cloak physically is on him, he is utterly immune to damage with exception to things augmented by weaknesses below. Concussion/impact damage from hits against it will still effect him. (i.e. punching is still effective if mitigated.) Virtually nothing in existence can break this guard, unless its perfect twin or polar opposite in equal or greater strength. (Other Innocence or Dark Matter.)
Elemental defense: anything outside of its weaknesses, he has near immunity to but it's limited to where it is physically on him. If he pushes synchronization with the aura he can also gain resistance all over. Not perfect. Sustained or extreme exposure (minor burns from short exposure to Lavi's conflagration of ash) can start to wear through.
Adjustable hardness: normally like very soft, light cloth, but he can harden it to be sharp as a sword or to reinforce his body like an exoskeleton at will.
Adjustable size: the cloak can change size, length, and volume at will. He can use it to cocoon his body entirely even if his movement is then limited. The maximum possible size is MASSIVE and undefined, minimum span of 50+ feet when taking a wing form even when he's not really pushing it. It'll destroy things and make space/explode outward if something tries to contain it.
Holy/divine aura: see gif. Not always in effect; it looks like translucent white flame around him and helps give him additional elemental/spiritual resistance all over. Heavier drawbacks.
Puppeteering: he can wrap his own body up in its ribbons and use it to move his body when it's too broken to otherwise.
Sentience: if he loses consciousness, it can move to protect him defensively and offensively on its own.
Heart: since it's a physical manifestation of the desires of his own heart and Innocence is completely tied to and only works if it respects how well the host knows their own heart, this means that the more determined to protect/save something he is the stronger he and thus it become. He has a strong ability to rally even when exhausted this way.
Anti-corruption: the very nature of the cloak is holy and purifying. Anyone wrapped up in it/touching it will have a slow and gentle purification of corruption in them. Doesn't do much for beasts.
WEAKNESSES
Pushing his limits/synchronization or overexerting himself burns up his soul/life force and will 1) begin to break his body down, and 2) shorten his lifespan
Dark Matter and general unholy powers to a lesser extent
Other Innocence and general divine powers to a lesser extent
Highly condensed corruption/corruption given form
Forbidden Blood (EXTREMELY weak to)
His own heart if it wavers
PERCEPTION
Visual: His scarlet "skin" turns obsidian, and golden striping begins just under the bicep and swirls up to where it disappears into a golden bangle on his cloak. A small and delicate golden bangle circles his very thin wrist in the shape of a crown and seems to be fused into his "skin", which is also much harder in this state and more like warm stone. What was a golden crystal in the shape of a star or cross on the back of his hand is now definitively a Christian cross in gleaming white. He no longer has fingers from just under the knuckle down, but massive white claws that are wickedly sharp and very delicate. They fluoresce with the same glowing white as his cloak when he channels more power into them.
Emotional/spiritual: The claws hum with a faint energy that even someone not sensitive to supernatural energy could sense, a cool-warm vibration of power that feels calming to touch, comforting. Spiritually-inclined people could sense a strong holy energy centered in them and the cross. If cut by them, the pain of it is real but also numbed by a cool-searing sensation and an overwhelming feeling of cleansing kindness.
STRENGTHS
Corruption cleansing: They cut through and purify corruption, so even if struck and wounded it still purges more corruption than it causes at least in that moment. All attacks and abilities have a cleansing aspect to them as well (other than the shield), though of course it's offset by the violence behind them.
Offense:
Edge End: He can channel holy, raw destructive power into his hand that packs an explosive punch.
Crown Edge: A projective attack where he forms ethereal rings in the form of crowns along his claws and can fling them for an explosive barrage.
Cross Grave: A strong exorcism-based attack, he can etch a cross on a creature to cleanse it. This can be violent, or as gentle as tapping it lightly with a cross and drawing it in front of it.
Defense: While his left arm even when inactive is relatively impervious and resembles smooth leather, in this form it is stone-like and very hard and he can use it to block and parry like a sword. If his arm is damaged, it begins to crack apart like stone or ceramic as well.
Cross Grave: Similar to the offensive use, he can etch a cross in the air (or, in a pinch, rapidly summon one that is presumably weaker) that forms an oval ethereal shield that, like most of his other abilities, is impervious to everything except other holy energy or very concentrated/powerful dark/unholy/corrupted energy.
WEAKNESSES
Manual dexterity. He can't make a fist in this form.
Destructive power. While also a strength, he has to be very careful of not harming living persons with this form.
His spiritual power with it is not as strong as it is with his sword.
Can be damaged in the same way as his cloak.
PERCEPTION
Visual: Gleaming white with gold trim and a gold cross on either side, the sword is as tall as Allen (176cm currently), almost as broad, and extremely thick. It notably does not come to a very sharp point, and overall resembles a kind of pointy plank. While his left arm is gone in this form, his cloak generally adjusts to accommodate that and drapes in a way that covers that.
Emotional/spiritual: If cut by it, there would be an overwhelming sensation of being cut, and yet no actual pain and only a strange sort of gentle tingling IF "HUMAN"/NORMAL... If possessed by a dark spirit, a demon, or anything that might fall under "evil" that is closely bonded with them on an innate level, it could cause immense physical and psychic pain as well as scarring if their DNA/physical makeup reflects it somehow. Cross-canon brainstorming required, his sword has a lot of weird, specific eccentricities. If corrupted, the sense of being "cut" is stronger and his power vs. the power of corruption can make it a struggle that's unpleasant at first, but there is still no pain or injury.
STRENGTHS
Corruption cleansing: Similar to his claw, but far more effective. When fighting Beasts, he notably needs to try and drive it into its "core" to fully cleanse it, but can weaken it and reduce the overall corruption of its soul by cutting away the "Beast flesh" while not harming the original body. For all but the most powerful Beasts and corruption, one solid strike to the core can cleanse them. Fighting something greatly above his spiritual power will result in seeming to work briefly, but only angering it and making it worse. For reference against canon instances (Noah), in Deer Country this would mean anything on the power scale of a minor Pthumerian or demigod. In this form specifically he is one of the most powerful and spiritually strong Exorcists in the world, and putting his inexperience aside for raw spiritual potential/strength he is a few steps under demigod level himself. Whether he's successful in purging corruption or Beasthood (or other exorcism-related instances) comes down to spiritual/emotional strength vs. spiritual/emotional strength.
Adjustable weight: To Allen the sword weights almost nothing which lets him perform many maneuvers and tactics one normally couldn't with a sword of its size. To anyone else who tries to lift it, it is massively heavy.
Telepathic recall: If separated he can call his sword back to him, causing it to hurtle through the air like a lance. He can do this to either have it spin hilt-first into his hand, or impale himself with it (and presumably something else in the process).
Offensive abilities:
Defensive abilities:
Drawing on the fact it's a near-indestructible goddamn plank, he can use the flat of the blade as a shield.
WEAKNESSES
Speed. While it is weightless to him, the size is unwieldy and causes a lot of air friction. He's slower than he is with his claws.
He is technically one-armed while using this form.
Against someone/something not corrupted/unholy/possessed in some form, he... cannot do a lot with it.
He can also use these on the landscape to allow him to either break his fall, or become aerial by pulling himself upward. He has immense mobility and aerial combat ability because of this, and he can use them either by whipping around something or by hardening them into spear-like points and embedding them into stone/etc. Combined with his claw he can attach and orient himself to any surface, even a ceiling.
When seeing a soul or corruption in this manner, the sclera of his left eye turns jet black and the pupil becomes a series of glowing red bullseye rings that will shift like a lens coming into focus. Characters who can see cursed energy can also notice a monocle-like cogwheel floating in front of his eye as well and general corrupted energy (when it's active). Even when inactive, if peering close, they can notice corrupted energy bleeding from the inverted pentagram.
Canonly he can detect a soul from 350m away, including through structures and without needing line of sight. In Deer Country this is much more muddied due to the other supernatural effects in the air, notably blood pollution which interferes. He will always see something when in view of it though, unless the abilities of his eye have otherwise been sealed or blocked.
When he loses control of his eye, he can inadvertently extend what he sees to people near him as well. In Deer, this happens when his own corruption levels spike.
His eye frequently causes him nightmares and self-activates in the middle of the night, causing him pain and to wake. He refers to this as feeling like his eye considers it a "sin" to sleep when he should be out hunting to exorcise. The eye is also continually evolving, and occasionally will bleed.

Character Base
• Character Name: Allen Walker (prev. "Red")
• Age: 17ish as of the latest arc? (he doesn't canonly know, and technically he should be in his mid-30's but an event he can't remember made him regress back to a child)
• Canon (Date/Year Released)/Canon Point: D.Gray-man. Released in 2004 and still ongoing. Taking him from a 2021 date/ch239.
• Items Coming Along: Literally nothing. This poor hobo child.
• Content Warnings for Character: Horrible things happening to depressed, orphan children who Deserve Better and suffer at the hands of an overbearing, militant religious order is 90% of this canon. But seriously, his childhood (and entire life) is full of horrific abuse. Highly violent, emotional, and very vaguely implied possible sexual abuse as a six(?) year old in recent chapters. Occasional suicidal moments, but they're brief and glossed past.
Character Background
• History: Wiki
• Core Relationships:
- Timcanpy. For a small golem who's a creation of alchemy and science, Timcanpy is Allen's best friend and one of the few constants he's had in his life. They're inseperable and Allen refers to them being a team, in Q&As even referring to him as basically his little brother. It means Timcanpy is also the only one who Allen actually confides in, given he is not human and thus Allen isn't concerned with being a burden on him, and later in canon when he's a fugitive he is literally one of the only things that keeps Allen sane and mentally strong enough to resist being taken over by Nea. It makes it even sadder when Timcanpy is ultimately destroyed and Allen, for the first time ever, who normally wears his caring on his sleeve and cries over the death of a stranger—finally seems to snap inside, and has no more tears to grieve with upon hearing of his destruction.
- Mana Walker/Campbell. Arguably the most important person in Allen's life—and Allen would say so—Mana is complicated as there are two entirely different stories: the one Allen tells, and the truth (with the current flashback revealing more). The easy story Allen tells is that Mana was his adoptive father, a traveling clown who was kind to him and saved him from the circus he had been sold to. Who died in a tragic accident, and Allen was tricked by the Earl into bringing him back to life—only it was as an akuma, and Allen ultimately (unwillingly) had to destroy him, traumatizing him so severely he was catatonic for months. He snapped out of it only when being reminded that Mana had always said to "keep walking", and he took it to heart as his own personal mantra, going so far as to then replace his own personality with that of Mana's as a coping mechanism and effort to keep him alive. Mana cursed him as well with the ability to see the souls of other akuma with his left eye, and Allen's desire to save them (and thus his whole motivation for everything) comes from that and making right by the fact he had to destroy Mana.
The "truth" is that Mana never actually adopted him. He was a slightly insane clown with a damaged memory who, when Allen ended up attacking him with his Innocence in a fit, was mentally broken further by that as he was actually the Earl of the Millennium, a Noah. To the point where he had forgotten even what he was and what he was searching for, and mistook Allen—then known only as "Red"—as his dead dog... who had been named "Allen". Thus Red took on the identity of his dead dog and became Allen, swearing out of guilt that he would become the man's dog in order to make him happy—and also because he was so starved for any form of human kindess, which Mana was the only person to ever show him. Allen's very aware of this, but he chooses to tell the story differently and in a much rosier light. - Cross Marian. For all that Allen sees Mana as his adoptive father and frames his memories of him in that way, Cross is the one who raised him, trained him, and is actually the one consistently a father to him. Even if a rather poor one. Their relationship is complicated as Cross was extremely harsh on him, and is Allen's polar opposite in many ways as a shallow-seeming bastard of a man who drowns himself in his vices of women, wine, and expensive things. Usually by billing everything entirely to his young apprentice of Allen and leaving the boy with more debt than some country's. But as much as they clash and as much as Allen complains about him and has various PTSD triggers from their years together, they both care deeply for each other in their own ways, even if never really showing it. Allen respects Cross's ability as a general tremendously, someone he believes is ten feet tall and rather literally bulletproof—and he is thus shaken to the core when Cross dies. After that he takes great pride in being his apprentice, and indeed he reflects (the better sides of) Cross in many ways, and finally when pursuing Cross's killer later on admits that he truly had loved him.
And I just realized the three most important "people" to him are actually all dead now. Oh my god I've just made myself sad.
Character Personality Through Key Moments
(2+) Positive Experiences/Traits:
- Allen is tremendously kind and empathetic. He describes himself as a "small man who can't help but be moved by the world in front of [him]", casting that almost as more of a negative trait than anything and dismissing that he has any notions of being a hero. He sheds tears for strangers he's just met, will risk his life for them, or even just to give two people a little more time together before the inevitable, and if he can help someone (who isn't an asshole, he does have a keen sense of justice and just desserts) he wants to. But even an asshole, someone he hates, or an outright enemy that means him and his friends harm—he will still try to save them. A complete traitor he'll still see as a father who just wanted to see his daughter again, and will try to save him (Suman Dark). He becomes labeled a traitor himself even, and accepts that because he couldn't leave the person arguably one of his mortal enemies, Tyki Mikk, behind to die in the Ark and instead tried to save him from the Noah inside him.
- But he is also a survivor, and strong to the point of being nearly unbreakable. Simply because he's been broken so many times, Allen is almost as resilient a character as they come for someone as sensitive and empathetic as he is, just because he's had to pick up the pieces of his shattered life and put himself back together so many times. When Mana died, he was catatonic from trauma and couldn't even leave bed or eat on his own for months. Not until Cross finally got him to remember everything Mana had been about, and he snapped back by adopting Mana's manner and mantra for himself. When Tyki "killed" him and he lost his Innocence, his reason for literally everything and the only way he was making amends for killing Mana, he had a breakdown over both having experienced death and realizing his own powerlessness. But he refused to give up the oaths he'd made, publicly denounced the god that supposedly gave him his power in the first place, and literally remade himself in the image of his own desire to save both humans and akuma. Later on, when he's forced to become a fugitive and says goodbye to the Order and everyone he's come to love, he has to redefine once again his entire meaning to exist and how he is still an Exorcist, even if he's left the Order, and even if he's now lost everything and is quite literally in the process of losing his mind, identity, and body. Even if it means coming to peace with the fact that he is fading away and there's nothing he can ultimately do about it in all likelihood, so he'll do the best and the most he can while he can. He never gives up, even when he knows he can't win, and he will always find a way to keep going while being true to his core ideals and oaths.
(2+) Negative Experiences/Traits:
- He is inherently selfish in his selflessness. Despite characters like Lenalee repeatedly telling him they care about and worry about him, he makes choices to risk himself and act on his own entirely. It's for the best of intentions, but he makes decisions for others and they should sit out and not be bothered by him all the time, even when they tell him otherwise. Lenalee calls him out on this to the point of slapping him for it when he gets angry and yells at her after literally saving his life by keeping him from essentially suiciding himself in a risky move, and she's the first person to make him realize he does that. While he recognizes that about himself after that and does apologize, and does feel bad for it and how he makes others feel—it doesn't really stop him, either. He just tries to be gentler about it now.
- Allen is also actually quite dishonest. Not for any mean or underhanded reason (other than the fact he cheats viciously at cards, but that's for some very specific reasons that he has a code of honor around), but related to how he buries his own true feelings so much of the time. Ironically while he wears some of his feelings on his sleeve so much of the time, much of his more private thoughts (usually his concerns, worries, and things he thinks would upset the people he cares about) he keeps very thoroughly buried and will lie straight to their faces about, usually behind a very gentle smile or a sheepish laugh. Lenalee catches him at this several times, and is the only character to call him out on this too repeatedly, going so far as to say that she hates that smile of his. When he lies it's always because he's trying to spare someone's feelings, but he lies nonetheless and it arguably only serves to cause further trouble that he isn't considering. Kanda, his extremely antagonistic comrade and arguably rival, is also one of the few people to call him out on his bullshit (and Allen his), though his methods are much more violent and lead to many fights, even one that should have been fatal. Unlike Lenalee, who makes him feel guilty, Allen greatly detests being called out by him and he will get highly defensive.
Deer Country Attributes
• Canon Powers:
Innocence
Allen is an Exorcist, previously of the Vatican and Black Order but not so much anymore, which means he's the accomodator of a holy weapon known as Innocence (which seems to derive less and less from "god", and is a powerful opportunistic entity that also wants to/has destroyed the world? look dgm is wild). His is parasitic-type, meaning his body itself is the weapon and it's a part of him. Specifically his left arm is his Innocence and thus inhuman, becoming Crown Clown when invoked. He can transform it into an exorcising blade that only hurts "that which is evil", a destructive claw, and summon a ethereal cloak that functions as semi-sentient full body armor and occasionally resembles angel wings. He has a number of different abilities, destructive and shielding, with its various forms. The cloak can also puppet his body for him when it's too broken for him to otherwise continue moving (in order to keep fighting). He can also control ribbons from the cloak that can be used to bind people or rappel himself/be Spiderman.
The left arm in both its active and inactive forms is essentially indestructible to everything save other Innocence and Dark Matter, both incredibly canon specific as perfect opposites. Similar panfandom materials (holy and dark) would have a much lesser effect. Against metal, human materials, and other magics however it is completely impervious. In its active form its smooth like marble in black with gold trim and white, delicate but wicked claws. Inactive it's a deep blood red, oddly hard but smooth, and plated like armor carapace over his knuckles. There's a golden crystalline cross embedded on the back of his hand that has a very faint holy aura to it when inactive.
Cursed Eye
Allen's left eye is cursed to see the souls that dwell within akuma (very canon specific), can allow others to see what he sees with its evolved form, and reacts in a more limited fashion to Dark Matter. He can detect akuma up to 300m away. When in his world it tends to wake him up every night with "nightmares", where he has a connection with akuma around the world and hears their cries, and the eye roils and tries to seek them out.
Exorcism
Allen's sword takes the true form of his heart which desires only to save people, thus it only harms "that which is evil". It will pass harmlessly through humans, humanoids—everything that doesn't fall under the category of evil/dark/malevolent. Against simpler demons, or things that are purely demonic/dark with no human element, it will cut them as any very sharp sword would, and exorcise them accordingly if applicable. But against any enemy with a human element, it will cut only the part of them which is "evil". (Like himself as a Noah.) How that happens is flexible. This will also generally (heavily) scar them. If Allen is comparatively powerful enough, it could force them human. If he's not, then it can just damage the inhuman part of them—possibly enraging it worse. Or any combination of what makes sense for the kind of being struck. Against characters who are possessed it can force out the possession as well, but if the character is acting on their own volition, just with a warped/brainwashed mind, it'll do nothing.
His claws also have a raw, destructive quality of exorcism/holiness to them as well, in addition to exorcising and cleansing the spirit. Interestingly enough, akuma who have been touched by his claw say it feels nice, almost healing. "With this I have been saved." But that's also given their very specific nature and bearing a soul that wants to be saved/exorcised, and so how it will feel depends on the character struck. Even if purely a negative response though, it would still be along the lines more of "gentle to the point of being searing".
Deer Country Changes
As he is reborn of and for this world, Allen's Innocence will evolve as well (as it is literally part of his DNA and reflects his will and desire to save others). It will be able to exorcise corruption and, pending mod discussion and approval, certain beasts if he is strong enough by comparison. His eye will also evolve and he will be sensitive to corruption, as well as being able to see the soul within certain beasts that might possess one.
While not listed above, Allen also has Noah abilities in canon as he is the host to the 14th, Nea. However, as Nea is a fully separate character trying to take over his head and is actually an appable character, he will be stripped entirely of the parasitic Noah entity in him and thus those powers.
I'd also like to play him as not getting his memory back for a much longer time—he needs to experience things in game that will remind him of the past, and slowly he'll get them back over time. This means having to relearn his Innocence and why he wants to fight, what he wants to save, because canonly it won't respond to him until he knows that about himself anyway. As for why he doesn't remember his past—canonly, his head is a mess and he already forgot his past self entirely. For one, he existed (in his current body) 30-some years ago already, regressed physically back to a child, and has no memory of it. Secondly, because the game mechanics means he no longer has Nea in his head and Nea has technically been a parasitic entity in his head the entirety of canon, that could conceivably mess things up in there further and make recalling the past foggy. He knows who he is, his personality is fully intact, but... he'll lack context of why. He'll eventually get it back, but in pieces as I thread things out with others.
• Blood Type: Paleblood
• Omen: A reborn Timcanpy lookalike because I have to make myself cry. None of the powers or abilities that canon Tim has as a golem, just his adorableness.
• Blessed Day: Dec 25, the date he left the circus with Mana
• Patron Pthumerian: Dorothea
• Blood Power Manifestation: Mild prophetic vision and the ability to dreamwalk with extremely close cr or extreme conditions. I am definitely playing him with primarily canon powers, complimented by his blood powers. Especially as he has extremely creepy, unexplained dreams in canon that seem to be like visions from the past meant to foreshadow the future, and does canonly share dreams with one person in particular (Lenalee) he has an unexplained but close bond with, I would like to run with that idea with blood powers. He'll also feel mildly stronger at night/under the moon.

Goals: Allen is literally a character of goals personified, even if they keep shifting over the course of the series. While he begins with two concrete and very simple ones, "don't stop, keep walking" as he is a character who has nearly drowned in despair so many times that promise is sometimes the only thing that keeps him going, and the desire to save all akuma, the twisted creations powered by despairing human souls that the rest of the world no longer sees as human or deserving any sort of peace or mercy. But with the canon point I am taking him from, he is far more desperate and has a much more basic goal: he desperately needs to understand his own truth, who he is, and what the memories he's had stolen from him are. To the point where he just exchanged what he was fully aware may be his life in exchange for knowing the truth of his origin at the point I'm taking him from.
Morals: Being a shounen protagonist in particular, Allen has an unwaveringly strong moral compass. Even if he frequently fails and doubts himself and has to adapt and change and grow, his core morality (and kindness) never sway. He explains it as not being because of any grand ideals or anything noble, but because if someone in front of him is suffering and he can do anything about it, he can't help but be moved to help them. It's compulsive and baked into his core.
HOWEVER... his morality is also very selective (to comedic effect). As a scrappy street urchin, he knows that in order to survive you sometimes have to do some very unsavory things, and he has elevated card-sharking to an artform of thinly veiled theft. But it all falls within his own very well-formed sense of "fair's fair", where if someone has it coming he can be very underhanded, but he would never rip off someone kind or who is also very poor off. It ties in with him being very judgmental and righteous at times, coming down hard on people who act arrogantly or cruelly, but staunchly backing those who are of gentler disposition or bullied.
Struggles: Allen has 251 chapters of continued struggling and it just keeps getting worse... Classically someone who literally never gets a break and gets any comfort or sense of normality ripped away from him the moment he has it, struggle is all he knows. Physically when his left arm was a useless club that had him repeatedly bullied, abused, and sold off to the circus as a toddler (though we now know that was likely a lie he was told/false memory), and mentally and emotionally he's an orphan who has suffered every abuse possible and lost everything important to him time and time again—and blamed himself for it with a guilt complex that led to him wanting to lay down and die more than once. And not even without rather valid reason, his violent actions and immaturity while being superpowered as a child full of rage did directly result in the death of the only person who ever showed him kindness that he loved... twice. And that guilt still haunts his actions and results in his borderline suicidal actions and frequent self-sacrificial behavior. His current state in canon has him losing his very soul and identity to another being that is erasing him, and so he struggles just to keep going to live for as long as he can against impossible odds in the simple hope that maybe, one day, his struggle might also inspire someone else to struggle on when it seems hopeless.
He will literally never get a break and listing all of his struggles would be a full essay. DGM is a tragedy horror mystery that will almost certainly end in his death, or being somehow forever alone.
Position: The worst student as he's never been to any formal schooling and can barely write his name!!! The worst!!! Which he will try to get out of by being a part-timer extraordinary in every shitty campus job he can take. Until he realizes he's not getting paid. (I presume they don't get paid.)

THIS IS THE ONLY PATH I CAN TAKE...
IN ORDER TO FEEL ALIVE
ABOUT
He's also an incredibly tragic, lonely boy who carries a lot of sorrow.
A lot of his more gentle nature and polite manner is a front as much as it's genuine (and sometimes he's an outright faker), given that part of his nature he forcibly adopted from his adoptive father (AKA the mentally unstable clown he tagged along with out of guilt and being love-starved) at a young age as a coping mechanism. He's made it his own, but still retreats behind his smiles and forcing a polite front, even when he doesn't feel that way. (While he believes he is a proper gentleman, he really isn't.) Which is also because—
Long before plot reasons broke him, he was originally a horribly foul-tempered and foul-mouthed hot-headed orphan who had been sold into a circus, and who suffered horrible abuses there (his entire childhood now is just an entire series of pretty severe CWs). Someone who was angry at the world and wanted to get stronger so he wouldn't have to depend on anyone and could protect himself; someone who didn't think he needed friends (and didn't think he'd ever have them). He's still that hot-blooded kid underneath his smiles and manners, and it comes out when he's nettled enough and is the driving force behind his stubborn Will To Live and Fight. He also tends to feel everything incredibly strongly and will never back down from how he feels. At his core, he is Allen "Walker" because of his adoptive father's mantra (shhh plot, shhh) to "don't stop, keep walking", later on deciding for himself that he'd make his path his own even if everything seems to conspire to force him a certain way.
Even if he doesn't know where that leads.
He's also cagey af about anything truly personal and to most people under normal circumstances will seem a very polite, sweet kid who's quite upbeat/cheerful as he crushes his real feelings behind a smile. And who when rubbed the wrong way can be quite prickly... and cheeky... and sometimes an outright brat... but at his core he has a heart of gold and just wants to save everyone.
ABILITIES
InnocenceAllen is an Exorcist, previously of the Vatican and Black Order but not so much anymore, which means he's the accomodator of a holy weapon known as Innocence. Allen's left eye is cursed to see the souls that dwell within akuma (very canon specific), can allow others to see what he sees with its evolved form, and reacts in a more limited fashion to Dark Matter. Nothing panfandom will register to his eye, but characters sensitive to magic and curses will notice a dark energy/curse seems to be residing within the mark, notably the pentagram. He can detect akuma up to 300m away. When in his world it tends to wake him up every night with "nightmares", where he has a connection with akuma around the world and hears their cries, and the eye roils and tries to seek them out. In games it tends to give him insomnia as well, just because the sudden silence becomes loud to him.Physical
» Circus acrobat agility/"nimble pest"
» Above normal human strength and stamina (he's doing this when the series starts and he was a scrawny bean compared to now)
» Seriously, he can catch (blood) bullets
» Amateur swordsmanship, most of it swinging a sword as big as he with only one arm like a plank (literally)
» Limited martial arts skills
» Ambidextrous
» Excellent night vision
EXORCISM
His claws also have a raw, destructive quality of exorcism/holiness to them as well. Against demons and dark creatures they would have an additional effect. Personality: Allen is your weird shounen horror hobo-hero in that he's actually a very gentle and kind boy who wishes to save others, regardless of whether they're his enemy or not, or even if they're a total stranger. He can't help but be moved by the world immediately in front of him, and if he can help someone then he wants to—something he doesn't see as a noble calling or sense of duty, but merely his own compulsion. He literally can't help it. But as his left arm also makes him a living weapon—a "destroyer"—and he exists to destroy akuma in order to save the human souls otherwise left to rot within them. Thus he wants to be a destroyer who also saves.
He's also an incredibly tragic, lonely boy who carries a lot of sorrow.
A lot of his more gentle nature and polite manner is a front as much as it's genuine (and sometimes he's an outright faker), given that part of his nature he forcibly adopted from his father at a young age as a coping mechanism. He's made it his own, but still retreats behind his smiles and forcing a polite front, even when he doesn't feel that way. (While he believes he is a proper gentleman, he really isn't.) Which is also because—
Long before plot reasons broke him, he was originally a horribly foul-tempered and foul-mouthed hot-headed orphan brat in a circus where he was abused horrifically and initially sold to them to be in the freak show because of his unsightly left arm. Someone who was angry at the world and wanted to get stronger so he wouldn't have to depend on anyone; someone who didn't think he needed friends (and didn't think he'd ever have them). He's still that hot-blooded kid underneath his smiles and manners, and it comes out when he's nettled enough and is the driving force behind his stubborn Will To Live and Fight. He also tends to feel everything incredibly strongly and will never back down from how he feels. At his core, he is Allen "Walker" because of Mana's mantra (shhh plot, shhh) to "don't stop, keep walking", later on deciding for himself that he'd make his path his own even if everything seems to conspire to force him a certain way. Even if later still he reaffirms his decision on this and acknowledges it also means resigning himself to suffering and eventually fading away/losing himself before he'll lose that vow.
Even if he still doesn't know where it'll lead him.
He's also cagey about anything truly personal and to most people under normal circumstances will seem a very polite, sweet kid who's quite upbeat/cheerful as he crushes his real feelings behind a smile. And who when rubbed the wrong way can be quite prickly... and cheeky... and sometimes an outright brat... but at his core he has a heart of gold and just wants to save everyone. Even if he has a terrible time ever accepting any help from anyone in the matter, even (almost especially) when all they want to do is support him. His guilt complex runs to his very core, sometimes driving him to nearly suicidal decisions before he'd ever risk dragging someone potentially down with him. Even the name "Allen" belonged to a dead dog that had belonged to Mana, and was given to Allen when Mana, driven even further into insanity affter being struck by the child's left arm and beginning to awaken again as the Earl, only when the man literally mistook him for his dead dog. Which Allen accepted and took both because he was so affection-starved for even the smallest human kindness which only Mana had ever shown him, and because of the immense guilt he felt for causing his continued mental decline. The first vow he ever swore was to Mana for exactly this reason: "this time, I'll be the one to make you happy", even if it meant becoming the dog of a mentally unstable Pierrot.
He is an intrinsically lonely existence, essentially. And entirely for decisions he has made quite consciously himself, despite also being so deeply afraid of being alone.
It should be noted I am pulling him from just before he finds out he's the host to the 14th, but is under suspicion of treason/heresy. He'll be slightly lighter hearted and less desperate and emotionally messy than current canon.
Innocence
Allen is an Exorcist, which means he's a host that was chosen by a "crystal of god" (actual religious ties to the Judeo-Christian God? debatable/probably not, canon is more recently severely implying it's alien) commonly called "Innocence", a weapon of a light/holy nature that exists to directly counter a darker power called "Dark Matter". His is a parasitic type dubbed "Crown Clown" that he was born with, meaning his body acts as the instrument that shapes the Innocence. He is a living weapon because of it, as it takes the form of his left arm and has merged completely with his DNA, bonding with his soul and his heart. It leaves his left arm looking distinctly inhuman, even when it's inactive. The only way to separate him from it is to cut his arm off entirely, and even that didn't work the last time someone tried. It can also be sealed with ofuda so that he's unable to move or activate it. Innocence cannot be broken by any substance in existence other than Dark Matter and other Innocence, the latter which can only damage/absorb it, the former can destroy it. This is especially of note with the cloak form that Allen's can take, which makes it incredibly effective armor and useful in binding others.
Innocence is a weapon that must be activated before it can be spiritually sensed or used beyond being inherently tough, its natural properties versus Dark Matter—and in Allen's case making his left arm exceptionally strong and nimble (he's ambidextrous), though he achieved that only from training so much with it. Once activated, its power comes from how well it synchronizes with the host—with their heart and resolve, given it's tied to their emotions. Allen has broken 100% synchronization, making him a "critical point breaker" and technically a candidate for General of the Black Order if he weren't suspected of being a traitor and a Noah. This means he can transform his left arm into two forms, each with various abilities. The lower synchronization form of a claw, and the higher synchronization form of a giant exorcising broadsword (which requires him literally ripping his entire arm off to transform it into the sword). In either form he also has a white cloak that serves as a living body armor as well. The weapon is sentient to a degree, and he can use it (or it can use him) to push his body to move when he's too broken to do so on his own anymore. In general, the claw form of his hand has raw offensive power that can harm anything while the sword cannot harm humans/normal creatures at all.
Lately, living Innocence has been depicted as angelic, notably Allen's own as well, and he has formed huge angelic wings with it while falling.
Sword of Exorcism
The (current) ultimate form of his Innocence that mirrors Allen's own heart—the sword doesn't harm humans or flesh directly, but harms only that which is "evil", meaning he can selectively cut the darkness in a person while leaving the human themselves alive. It can exorcise, very generically even as Innocence otherwise generally doesn't, given he was confident if Lavi was possessed it would have freed him (but Lavi was not, Lavi was only Lavi, so it did nothing). It does have a corporeal form and mass to it as he can use it as a shield against attacks, but it cannot ever cut or harm normal humans and will pass right through them.
When the sword is active Allen can also use an ability called "Death Orbs" which is a series of massive explosions all around him, but this appears incredibly taxing. Additionally, at the the time I have taken him from canon he currently cannot use it, but as he gets stronger and more attuned to Innocence that at this time is fairly new to him in this he'll naturally learn it.
Cross Grave
When invoking his Innocence as a claw, he can use this ability either defensively or offensively. Defensively he can draw a cross in the air to form a shield, and offensively it serves to crucify and exorcise akuma by drawing the cross on them. It's a very powerful weapon offensively, but only in the sense of exorcism against creatures that can be purged by abilities that put them at peace. To an akuma it "feels good", presumably because of bringing that sense of salvation.
Crown Edge
Another ability with the claw invocation of his hand, he can fling crowns of light from the talons of his hand like many, many rings. Explosive and ranged.
Edge End
Empowers a swipe from his left hand with a large amount of raw holy/light energy.
Crown Belt/the cloak
Possible in any invocation, it's an extension of the white cloak form and body armor of his Innocence. He can use it to wrap himself in ribbons to force his body to move, rappel around and push himself off the ground like the entire cloak is a living object, or use it to reach out and bind another person or object. It manifests as white ribbons he lash out with from his right wrist. Additionally, at any time he can harden the cloak and contort it to make spikes, a shield, webbing, or any number of forms he can imagine it taking. It can be as soft as down or as hard as his claw depending on his will.
The downside of his Innocence and the cost is that all of this requires a tremendous amount of energy. Life-force and caloric. He has to consume ridiculous amounts of food to sustain his invocations or even just passively given that it is a parasite, and the more he uses it the more it shortens his lifespan. (Can he become faint from overusing his abilities and not eating enough? Yes. Yes he can. It takes a lot because his stamina is shounen protagonist levels of ridiculous, but it's possible.)
Cursed left eye
Allen's left eye is cursed so that he sees the corrupted/despairing souls that power metal/Dark Matter weapons called akuma(not actually demons). While this is extremely canon specific and it's not implied that he can see ghosts or anything else of that sort, demonic energy/cells or corrupted souls could theoretically be a parallel. Humans that are half-akuma in canon don't register as anything strange to Allen until they activate the weapons/cells in them that are akuma in nature, and then he just sees a vague dark aura around them.
It's also implied that it serves as a seal of sorts on the Noah memory within him, but the abilities of his eye can be sealed as well through sorcery.
The 14th/Noah Powers
Just because he wasn't a complicated special snowflake enough already, in addition to being an Exorcist, Allen is also (somehow) paradoxically the Fourteenth Noah, Nea D. Campbell (and thus, more recently we have discovered—half of the original Earl/First Apostle whose soul split and whose other half is Mana Campbell—also known as Mana Walker, yes Mana Walker), two things that should be mutually exclusive but somehow aren't. At the time I'm taking him from Nea's memory is actively showing itself from time to time, in moments of great stress, injury, or proximity to the Earl. His aura also shows the colder taint of the Noah as well, and he has demonstrated the ability to cast spells and use "sorcery" that he explains as just "hearing the words in his head" like someone else is speaking them.
This is also related to him being technically 35 years old (somehow?) and having lived before as "Allen" when Nea was first lived and promised a dying Nea he would help live again/protect his memories. Somehow he became a kid again and current-him has no memory (the most recent fanbook confirmed his ages and that they are/were the same person).
???
Don't ask, this canon is special and explains things at a slower-than-Berserk pace.
Noah's Ark
The memory comes with the ability of being a/the "Musician". This means he's also able to control and pilot an interdimensional travelcube of a city called Noah's Ark via uncannily being able to play the piano and, more importantly, a certain melody that controls the interdimensional travel. It's pretty massive inside.
Practically this means he's able to create gates at any time to the Ark, can pilot it to a location, and can make gates (portals, basically) to anywhere in the world he's physically been. Usually this ends up being a series of permanent gates that once someone is in the Ark they can access by opening the door in a building associated with it, although temporary gates to somewhere while bypassing the Ark itself entirely is possible. Within the Ark are many separate pocket dimensions as well.
Inventory/Companions:
Timcanpy, the bestest boy golem that ever was a best boy.
His uniform and travel coat
A small old-fashioned suitcase containing a change of civilian clothes, pajamas, and a couple sentimental items.
Choice: Witch
Reason: While Allen is himself the weapon that he wields (and thus it makes him inhuman/a monster), it's all about his bond that he has with his Innocence, a sentient monster of sorts, that gives him that power. He is remarked time and time again on the depth of his bonds being the source of his power, and his heart literally merged with Crown Clown at one point. Many of his abilities feature more like augmentation spells, his master was a sorcerer, and he himself later demonstrates spellcasting and sorcery different from his Exorcist abilities via his Noah memory. I also enjoy the idea of him needing to form a bond with a monster, mirroring his canon bond in that manner.
He is NOT an academic however and will be absolutely terrible at anything studious or with books; he can barely write and had virtually no book learning as an abused orphan hobo without even a name. (And it will be fantastic gag potential.) However, he is extremely intuitive with massive spiritual strength and understanding, and as such tends to learn new powers and skills best when forced to and doing so by his own sheer determination and insight. As such any significant growth as a witch for him would most likely come in bursts, only mastering something new and challenging when finally forced to use it in a do or die moment.

HISTORY: Here
PERSONALITY: Allen is your weird shounen horror hobo-hero in that he's actually a very gentle and kind boy who wishes to save others, regardless of whether they're his enemy or not, or even if they're a total stranger.
(While he believes he is a proper gentleman, he really isn't.) Which is also because—
Long before plot reasons broke him, he was originally a horribly foul-tempered and foul-mouthed hot-headed orphan brat who worked in a circus where he was mostly just beaten up and abused. At his core, he is Allen "Walker" because of his father's mantra (shhh plot, shhh) to "don't stop, keep walking", later on deciding for himself that he'd make his path his own even if everything seems to conspire to force him a certain way.
Even if he doesn't know where that leads.
I've also written a further personality analysis on his strengths and weaknesses here if it's needed.

All of Allen's main abilities as an Exorcist are only applicable when actively in combat and he invokes. His arm is passively always what it is because it has altered his DNA and is a part of him, thus from day 1 he'll still.. have his arm, but for a while he'll notice if he tries to do any sleights of hand with it beyond normal human speed or dexterity that it feels clunky.
Whenever he first tries to tries to invoke, because Exorcists have their effectiveness and strength measured by their synchronization rate and Allen has surpassed 100%, it'll basically be like he's back to having a very low sync rate. It'll backfire, he won't be able to hold a stable form with it, and he'll have to start from nearly the beginning with retraining himself with his Innocence and getting his synchronization up, which means almost the entirety of this powers list he won't be able to do for quite some time. Which for him as an accomodator equals blah blah character development, figuring out who he wants to fight to protect and why, etc. etc. personal plot potential. The nature of Innocence means he can't regain it just waiting and training, but by getting back in touch with his own desires over what he wants to protect. It won't become a weapon for its host until they're certain of that.
INVENTORY/COMPANIONS:
1) Timcanpy! This adorable thing. Who will also be power-nerfed. At most he could regain some of his hammerspace abilities, which Allen doesn't really know how to utilize anyway. He could gulp something down to keep it safe for later after he's adjusted.
2) His suitcase, which contains Mana's clown costume and props.
3) He's a hobo at this canon point, he's literally not carrying anything else on him....
FACTION CHOICE: Court of Stars
REASON: Allen's a well-rounded enough character and atypical shounen protag that cases can be made for both. He's very wily, defies a lot of stereotypes of being a thoughtless jock-type, yet for someone with boundless hope and faith he's still very street-smart and grounded in reality. He has as moments of great insight and intelligence as he does being incredibly dense and stupid. But he is forever someone who he ruled by his heart and what he feels is right, even stating very early in canon how he is a small man who "can't help but be moved" by what's immediately in front of him, even if that might not be the rational choice. He's different in that he's usually aware of the rational choice, but acts on his heart and gut intuition anyway when it really matters. He also shows remarkable insight into people and what motivates them, being an incredibly intuitive person if not booksmart in the slightest, and always wanting to see the humanity in them. He's always trying to connect with the humanity in others, even his enemies, the thing he values the most and wants to protect. Preserving love and kindness and all the capacity for them.
Basically, if there isn't a pressing need? He'll stand back and consider his actions carefully. But if someone is in danger and he can do something about it? He's throwing caution to the winds and jumping in without a second thought even if it's practically suicide.
TATTOO: Crux, the Southern Cross, on the back of his right hand. (Presuming the Northern Cross doesn't count as it's an astronomical asterism and not a true constellation.)

NOTES, QUESTIONS, COMMENTS:
Nerfs: Everything to do with the Ark will be sealed since otherwise he could use it to leave. Additionally, his eye won't have cross-fandom sight as akuma are not akuma/demons but something very canon-specific made from a very specific material. Instead, he might feel a strange ache in it like he's trying to see something that isn't there, and have a heightened sense around cursed/demonic entities.
