[ One day maybe he'll realize when he teases him... .... maybe.
For now, Allen's thoroughly baffled though the moment that he says he needs to sit up. It catches him a little uncharacteristically off balance, though he scrambles a bit to oblige him and follows the direction of that arm around his waist. And he doesn't get it at first when Shouto presents him with both palms, blinking again -- until he explains.
Then his expression falls. Not in dismay, but in realization and it becomes so very gentle. So very fragile. Oh.
Well now he feels like a heel. ]
Shouto...
[ Carefully, he reaches out to take his hands. So he can bend to kiss them very softly, first one palm-- ]
... I was trying to encourage you and say "now it's your turn to touch me too..." [ a kiss to the other palm ] ...but I think I went about it all wrong.
[ He pauses then, nuzzling against his hands faintly as he turns the sentiment over in his mind. The conflict from the guilt he has over that still with the overwhelming sweetness of that sentiment leaving his stomach in a small knot. ]
I'm sorry, I know how you feel.
[ Though the degree to which, it keeps catching him offguard and stunning him. ]
[ He looks a little stunned by that admission, which for him, barely registers as more than a slow blink and a subtle shift in his expression. ]
You don't need to apologize. [ He says, still a little stunned and going over his request in his mind to figure out where he'd gone wrong. ] I'm the one who misunderstood.
[ His gaze flickers back up at him, quiet silver eyes through white lashes, and he smiles gently then. Affectionately, and shakes his head slightly. ]
It's alright. [ He reaches to pull some of the hair from his face then, and leans in to kiss his brow sweetly. Appreciating the lull and the moment between them even if it happened by accident. ]
He smiles wide at the kiss to his nose though, taking the opportunity to bump Shouto's lightly with his own playfully. Peaceably, even if he is chiding him over something he isn't even getting. ]
Any sputter he might have had is smothered by the kiss, but Allen's just fine with that. There's an appreciative hum instead that he kisses him again, and he relaxes into it and him, letting Shouto take the lead. Sweet and a little needy -- even if he tries to catch his lower lip in a playful sort of nibble then. ]
When have I ever missed. [ There's a playful flash in his grey eyes, a soft and slow kind of relaxed smile. ]
[ Feeling a little reckless, the next one comes in the form of a winter kiss. Slanting his mouth against his, he takes his time heating up until it's a molten heat, drawing back from the kiss to release the steam filling his lungs. ]
In my nightmare. [ It drifts between them, white like the cold mist against the cool night air. ] When we found my coffin.
[ And a sleeping Prince within, surrounded by blue flowers drinking up the moonlight. ]
[ That's cheating and has Allen clinging back in response, a note of surprise and appreciation both caught in the back of his throat and smothered by the kiss as it catches him offguard and quickly numbs his mouth. His fingers dig into Shouto's hair with more force than usual, encouraging to kiss him more deeply as it warms, even if the intensity and heat of it quickly steals his breath and leaves him panting lighting when he draws back.
It's his favorite, reminding him of the first time they ever truly kissed. But that answer makes him blink, quickly realizing the time he's talking about. ]
The first time... [ He stares in some dumbfounded fascination, the steam dissipating into the air around them. ] I didn't miss.
[ He leans in to nip a quick, soft to his ear. Catching the lobe in his teeth and rolling it gently between them. ]
[ It's not cheating. It's genetics. Perfectly tempered to human limits. Allen did give him permission a few dozen kisses ago. And Shouto has been fine-tuning his control ever since their first kiss. ]
The fist time, I kissed you.
[ He reminds him, kissing his throat with a hot mouth that slowly turns frigid and heats up again. He's enjoying himself. ]
[ It's also so distracting that it razes even the excellent sort of self-control Allen has. Not that they aren't far past that or anything.
The attention to such a sensitive spot pulls soft gasps and a low, shaky exhale of a sigh from Allen as he tips his head back to bare his throat and give him room. One hand digs into Shouto's hair and musses up the red and white split while the other wraps around his shoulders and clutches him close. It's sending hot shivers in a bolt straight through him, and he's not sure if it's because of the heat or the cold. ]
I didn't-- miss... [ Excellent counter-point, one of his best. What are words. ]
[ The sound encourages him to continue, a notion further bolstered by the way Allen reveals more of his throat to him sending a note of buzzing awareness and lifts his mouth off long enough to find another spot. ]
You did.
[ He chides. Turning his attention to the dip where his neck and collarbone meet and sets a cold mouth on it. Allen can make a mess of his hair, it will return to its rightful place without sweat or product to weigh it down. This time he tenderly licks off the frost that started to form, melting it completely, and gently presses a kiss in the center. ]
I'm glad you did. [ Another kiss, an inch lower this time. ] It made me realize I didn't want you, too.
[ He shivers, wanting to press closer but also wanting to give him room. His legs tighten around Shouto's hips, continuing to stroke along the back of his neck encouragingly.
It made me realize I didn't want you too... Oh, that makes his heart squeeze ]
I wanted... [ His breath hitches softly at the warmed tongue that licks the frost away, bringing sensation back to the numbed area. ] a proper kiss--
To be something we both decided...
[ Looking down when he moves a little lower to kiss him again and seeing only the swirl of white and red hair, he brings his hands up to run lovingly along his shoulders and through the strands. Keeping him close as his heart hammers sweetly from more than just the frosty kisses and scorching licks. ]
[ A proper kiss... He has to go back a year to recall that kiss. Was it proper? No, not at all. They'd been nude in the water, and Shouto almost froze and boiled Allen all at once while he was technically still injured.
He draws back to take in his naked chest, thin but strong filled with a tapestry of encounters Shouto could never understand. The first time he'd seen them was on that day at the beach. It hadn't mattered as much as seeing him alive.
He tips his chin up to look at Allen, a hand coming up to trace his bottom lip. He remembers that week of solitude when corruption snapped at his heels forcing him to sleep at the base of a cherry blossom tree. He waited alongside Tim until the days started to blur and the nights stretched on and he thought about the times they'd fought together. How Allen had been with him throughout his nightmare, keeping him from straying from the path. How he'd kiss him on the cheek, and how Shouto could only think that he'd missed his mark entirely.
Shouto looks at him fondly. ] Do you still want a proper kiss?
[ He tilts his head slightly to the side, watching him and wondering what are you thinking? when he seems to regard him so gently and so fondly. It softens Allen's expression, watching the the quiet depth to which he considers him, and he turns his head to catch his thumb with a gentle nibble when he traces his lip with it. Sweet and reverent as a prayer, his hand coming up to ensnare his wrist lightly as he sucks lightly on the digit before releasing him with a soft lick.
He presses a kiss to the inside of his wrist, and then Allen leans down. Smiling so very softly as he reaches to touch the side of Shouto's face, and nuzzling his nose delicately in smitten affection. A million kinds of smiles he might have, so many of them loving, soft and sweet, but this is the kind of one that only Shouto sees. One of gentle, absolute adoration. ]
[ You... are very distracting. He had a point here, one he forgets entirely, the moment he registers what Allen is doing with his thumb. There's no surprise, but an understanding that makes his stomach tighten when he stares down at those loving eyes and sweet smile. It feels like looking at the night sky during a full moon from above. Draws him in to kiss his mouth, a delicate brush of lips. Then moves on to his cheek, first his left then right. A single lingering kiss is placed at the dip of his throat between his neck and collar, tender and proper, while fire and ice build up within him.
A hand lands on his hip, and slides down his thighs, tracing the seam of his pants down and over his knees before backtracking up. He keeps going, down his chest, planting kiss after kiss, nudging Allen back little by little until he can't bend anymore and comes up for air, taking Allen's mouth in a swift and passionate kiss filled with fire and ice. Half cold. Half hot. ]
I want to kiss more of you.
[ Said between kisses, until the heat and ice dissipate from his blood. ]
There's a breathy gasp as that hand grips his thigh and runs along his leg, bent backwards to allowed the continued exploration down his chest and clinging on to Shouto's shoulders in such a way that it limits his ability to react properly. His legs squeeze onto his hips the same way that his hands grip at his shoulders though, muscles trembling lightly from brush of lips along his skin working their way lower and maintaining his precarious balance, and when Shouto lifts his head again Allen cups his face and surges to meet him with a passionate kiss of his own. Clashing and melding together like his own fire and ice, his fingers tangle into his hair as he tries to drink him in too. Ice and fire and all.
I want to kiss more of you.
His answer comes as a soft sort of moan into the kiss, feeling a little dizzy and adrift in a storm of sensations that has his own blood thrumming in his ears. When they break next and the embers have cooled and the frost melted, leaving his mouth numb but tingling at the same time, he rains a series of kisses along the side of Shouto's face. Sweet but heated, wherever he can reach. Cheek, temple, the jewelry on his ear.
Having full realization of themselves and the moment, in one snapshot of clarity. It gives him a small shiver, nervous and elated both, which settles as a squirming sensation in his gut and makes him run his hands so lovingly over his bare skin. ]
[ There's fire in his blood and ice in his veins. His heart works overtime to keep him level-headed. He's spent the last few months trying to keep his kisses proper and his quirk in check, but no amount of meditation will ever hold up against the sound Allen makes when he gets swept up along with him. His stomach clenches, and he knows exactly why he failed so miserably at keeping himself in check.
His mouth lands on his naked shoulder, sucking lightly on the textured skin of his scar, as his heart rate comes down enough to let him speak. ]
I want to lay you down and kiss you.
[ He licks the skin, adding a bit of heat into the mix. ]
[ Allen flushes at that, shivering a little at the feel of his mouth against his scar, and wraps an arm around Shouto as they both come down again and catch their breath. Somewhere along the way he thinks you misinterpreted what he meant by a proper kiss? But has absolutely no complaints and can't care at all about that.
He runs a hand along his spine gently, dropping a softer kiss to Shouto's shoulder in contrast to how those anticipatory flutters in his stomach tighten up. Lay you down...
In response, he presses down lightly on Shouto's shoulders as he rises up onto his knees in a sway of long, soft and silver white hair. Climbing out of his lap by swinging one knee around, he pivots carefully in the narrow space of the reading nook to begin to slip in beside Shouto with his smaller frame. But his focus is solely on him. Touching his jaw lightly as he twists in place carefully, and drawing him towards him as he leans in to kiss him so very sweetly.
Delicate as a snowflake landing on a cheek, and he doesn't pull away fully after. He just looks at him for a moment, something so very content and at ease even when his heart is dancing in wonderment and his body feels light with a nervous sort of anticipation, and reaches to touch his face lightly. Like it's the most precious sort of thing. Taking him in and memorizing every detail of those heterochromatic eyes, the almost supernatural piercing brilliance of the one and the calm and steady grey of the other, the wandering outline of his scar... and finding it makes him feel whole.
Allen smiles, eyes hooding. Softly, like absolutely everything is right in this tiny world. ]
[ There is an elegance in Allen's movements that belies the strength within. He's seen him in combat, perfectly balanced, focused. An effigy of grace. Warm and welcoming. Forged from steel.
Shouto watches him with warm eyes, rising above him like a full moon in spring, his hair filled with starlight. He follows his movements with adoration in his eyes, his heart brimming with reverence and the passion of youth. Another seed has taken root, and he turns his head to kiss his hand, pressing a fervid kiss to his wrist where his pulse beats a melody of boundless possibilities. Their lips meet in deep-rooted affection, a tender moment, precious and elusive all at once.
I love you.
He smiles, warm and loving. A restitution for all the times he let logic speak for him instead of his heart. What is love if not this? You waited for me... again. He thinks, delicately touching his cheek with the pads of his fingers, tracing his scar. He takes his time, committing the moment to memory. White lashes. Silver eyes, framed by a beautiful smile and a curtain of starlight. He looked like an angel stained with light. ]
[ It's funny, it never bothered him that Shouto never said it back before, or that said he was still trying to figure out what his feelings for him were. After all, Allen never said it in the expectation of hearing something in return: it was just how he felt, how he wanted to make him feel. Loved. And because he already knew in the way that was important to him.
Love isn't in words alone, but in actions. So to him, it always felt like Shouto said he loved him in his own way every day.
So he smiles at that, so warm and deep, so knowing, and leans his cheek into his hand with absolute trust, pale in the lunar light. Memorizing that kind and warm smile and lulled by the naked affection between them, the tranquility of the moment in the midst of their passion, and how there's the faint whispering of the forest outside the walls of their home. The pile of their discarded clothes on the floor and the rest hung neatly by the door, or the smell of green tea and light sweat in the air. Every element something that makes up the coziness of a home.
And Shouto, solid and reassuring, touching him with love and smiling at him with an open and welcoming heart that speaks of so many more days like this. Shouto who also says I love you too, and Allen knows that means he found peace with that part of himself.
It's perfect, to him. And the gradual peace that's been filling his heart for the better part of a year... it feels complete. He feels complete like this. At peace, for maybe the first time ever, and even with Allen's natural eloquence with such things... how could he ever explain that? So his eyes soften at that, with an infinite kind of fondness and understanding that defies words, and leans in to let their mouths meet in a sweet exchange of affection and stirred ardor.
I think...
...you've made me a better "me".
Allen's arms wind around his neck, letting his weight transfer onto his shoulders as their mouths continue to move together in a languid dance of rekindling passion that says there's no need to hurry, but they're excited to get there too. An invitation to pick him up and move him; to lay back with and hold him. ]
[ Loves is in the everyday. In finding a new pastry Allen might like and coming home to have him taste it first to see what he thinks. In learning his and Tim's eating habits and adjusting their portions. In chiding him when he feeds the koi too much because he'd be sad if they got ill. In reading to him, in this nook, of treasure islands and castles in the sky. Of waking up before him, and watching him sleep before getting up to find breakfast because he made dinner the night before. Finding him in the kitchen concerned about the width of soba noodles and kissing him on the cheek. Of packing almost every shelf in the fridge with lemons while he figures out a new recipe. It's in the everyday that he fell in love with him. In the everyday that they first met, washed up on the beach, using a piece of driftwood for cover, and turning down his offer to carry him.
It's the everyday of homelife that Shouto always wanted for as long as he could remember, and it's what he treasures with Allen. What he's always craved, not the title of hero or number one, but the reason he fought for it in the first place. To be allowed this, little moments like this, he was always denied. So, he smiles, bright and full of love he could never share. He smiles because it feels like uncovering a part of himself. How he was before the world was made and he forged a mask of stillness to keep the monsters at bay.
It feels like spring in his heart, full of blooming flowers drinking up the moonlight. He smiles into the kiss with a kind of serenity that makes him glow. ]
[ He settles himself above Allen, one knee on either side of him, and breaks the kiss to brush his lips against his neck, letting himself lean toward passion. ]
I'm going to kiss you. [ He promises. ] Until there's no more skin left to kiss.
[ He sets his boundaries to every inch of skin that's been uncovered, so far, and gives Allen the time to set his own, while he makes a mess of his throat and collarbone. ]
